Dotty Chase Art

Dotty Chase was born and raised in New England with its beaches, mountains, rolling hills, and abundant farmland. She was encouraged and inspired by her family while she was growing up. Her mother kept all the collection of artwork she had sketched as a teen and Dotty could go through them from time to time. These pieces included sketches of Minnie and Mickey Mouse, and all the drawings of women in the 1940 fashion. Dotty attended an art museum taking silversmith courses early in her career. She created beautiful silver jewelry to sell at craft shows that she attended. She later switched to painting and has attended art classes on and off for so many years. Dotty likes to experiment with different styles of painting. She applies anything that will add feeling and interest to her work, including string and paste. Her love of sheep, cats and country scenes show in her art. She loves texture in her art and favors warm earthy colors and prefers to paint on canvas or paper. Living in New England with its changing climate and landscape, Dotty is never short on ideas. She gets her inspiration mainly form her surroundings. Dotty paints what she imagines and feels, and not necessarily what she sees. She believes that drawing from what she imagines and feels provides the best way through which she connects with those who view her works. Dotty incorporates the many New England houses and barns in her artwork. The appeal of her works has seen many galleries prepare famed Dotty Chase art fully finished and ready for customers.
