Marie Channer Art

Marie Channer was born in the Deep South in Alabama. Her love for the west and horses gives her inspiration for her landscapes and horse paintings. Marie also enjoys painting dancers and has completed quite a number of Flamenco pieces. Currently, she resides near Nederland Colorado. When not in her studio, she will be found teaching a class about painting in oils, studying Old Masters techniques, or touring museums and galleries studying other artist’s work. Marie grew up where portraiture is a revered tradition. In fact her mother was a celebrated artist who took her under her wing and taught her the basics of art. These experiences have given her the ability to make an emotional connection with her subjects that ensures the charm and inner beauty of the subjects comes across clearly in their portrait. Marie’s work can be seen at: Shruptrine Fine Arts in Chattanooga, Horton Fine Arts Beaver Creek, The Signature Galleries in Santa Fe, Sheldon Fine Arts in Naples, Spa Fine Arts in Saratoga Springs, Jones-Terwiliger in Palm Desert, Jones-Terwilliger Carmel, California, Abend Gallery in Denver, and Mary Williams Fine Arts in Boulder in Colorado. In 2002, she was honored at the Louisville National Show with The People’s Choice Award, and both in 2002 and 2003, she earned a 1st place award at the Boulder National Art Show. Framed Marie Channer art have been made popular by her exposure. She has been featured in several leading magazines including the Western Art Collector Magazine and The American Art Collector Magazine.
