Eugène Carrière (Born 1849) was born at Seine-Saint-Denis (Gournay-sur-Marne). His themes mainly covered the scenes of his domestic life. In his art, he liked to introduce the likeness of his wife. The first one being “The Young Mother” which he produced in 187 and is now found at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen. The second was “The Sick Child” which was followed by “The First Communion”, and the portrait of Louis-Henri Devillez the sculptor which he produced in 1887 and was highly praised. He studied in Paris at the École des Beaux-Arts and later under Cabanel, and he became a leading French Symbolist artist who was active in the Fin de siècle period. His early works of art are recognized the world over. His art is in many collections and can be seen adorning the walls of many prestigious buildings around the globe. His themes are usually scenes of his domestic life. His paintings are easily recognizable because of their monochrome palette (brown). Carrière was a close friend of Rodin, the sculptor, and his work influenced Picasso. He was always fascinated by the pure perfection in nature and believed that within chaos there is always some order, and that everything has its own unique perfection. His art has been reproduced in a variety of forms and styles, and finishing options. Many clients prefer the framed Eugène Carrière art because they come ready to hang with all the required accessories. His technique is very unique and no other artist has been able to copy this technique without affectation.
