Carol Braden is a mixed-media artist based in Northwest. She has a leaning toward found objects, recycled materials, and everything that’s Americana. Her art is sold in fine craft galleries nationwide and in the Denver Mart via Kellogg Home to-the-trade. Everything she offers is hand-made, made from authentic materials, and made in America. Site-specific commercial design and custom work is quoted on request. Carol is a member of Austin Art Alliance, the Country Music Association, and the American Craft Council. She’s a nationally recognized, self-taught mixed media artist with studios in both Portland and Seattle. Her art reflects who she is and where she’s from. She loves the West and all things associated with it. Although she’s known primarily as a “license plate artist,” she also tries hand on about all things collectible and vintage. She finds inspiration everywhere she looks. Using up-cycled or recycled materials whenever possible drives her business acumen and creative mission. The green-leaf icon on her products means that these products are made with eco-certified, sustainable or reclaimed materials. Today, her artwork is found in every corner of the world; especially the framed Carol Braden art. Carol regular at many antique malls and salvage yards dotted along Interstate-5; where she looks for rodeo posters, old tools, reclaimed hardware, punched tin soda cans, and other finds for her art. Carol does not offer any products that are mass-produced or imported. And all her handwork, material-gathering and design is done in her studio based in Seattle. The things that make me tick include finding the beauty in the worn and flawed, layering materials, and mixing patterns and textures.
