Framed Black Color Prints
Most people think of the color black and think of sad or dark things. Artists have begun to turn that way of thinking around with their framed black color art. Words on paper are black and white and we all know how beautiful they can be and so can black and white photographs. Black is not just for funerals and sadness anymore.
Ansel Adams is a photographer that uses black and white film to create beautiful framed black artwork. His piece titled “Rose and Driftwood” seems to be a popular choice for fans of his work. “The Tetons and the Snake River” are another one of his works that is seen quite often in various decors.
Another photographer that makes framed black pictures that have a comical side to them is James Flad. One of his funniest works that always brings a smile to faces is “Bert’s Bath”, featuring a soaking wet cat climbing from the tub looking very disheveled and angry. H. Armstrong Roberts definitely takes black away from death and sadness in his picture of a baby lying on the floor holding its bottle with its tiny little feet. He uses black to symbolize new life; not the ending of it.
Black art can be great for different classroom situations like the “Chalkboard Alphabet” or the simple “E=MC2”. One of the most beautiful pieces of literature has been used in black colored art; it is “The Road Not Taken” by poet Robert Frost. These words next to a tree silhouette create a great work of art.
