Robin Betterley stumbled into the world of miniatures when she was expecting her first child. She was already doing crafts and craft shows with her father. Even as a young girl she could make stuffed animals or paint lawn ornaments during her free time, and her parents used to sell them where they worked. Robin’s father was a weekend craftsman and he used to bring her some play dollhouse furniture he had made and asked Robin to paint them for the grandchildren. The paintings came out so cute that they brought some to their next craft fair. These pieces sold faster than anything Robin had offered before. She later found out that there were shows exclusively for miniatures. So then with two baby girls, Rachel and Taryn, they started doing a few of these miniature shows and her work was very well received. She is at once both humbled and proud that her work is accepted, allowing her to live a joyous artist's life. She now lives and loves the world of miniatures and art because it is an ever changing involvement with materials, both manufactured and raw, and a childlike charm with technology that keeps her committed and adrenalized. Framed Robin Betterley art can be used to decorate any space; that’s why they are popular with people of all ages and walks of life. She started trying other mediums and fell in love with bread dough. She started making vegetables and food, and then turned to holiday items like colonial style decorations, apple cone trees and wreaths. She was eager to try her hand at whatever she could miniaturize and everything intrigued her.
