Nicolas Bataille (1330 – 1405) was born in France. He was an artist and was also a Hand-weaver. He was a firm believer in the inspiring and regenerative power of color, texture, and design. He was interested in the visual arts since his childhood. Between 1375 and 1381 he made a series of tapestries showing scenes from the apocalypse. He began producing art as a hobby using crafty materials that he could lay his hands on. With time he discovered his choice mediums and he has continued to develop his style over the course of his work in that medium. He was much encouraged by the feedback he got from those who viewed his art and this became the driving force behind his success. Many of his works of art were intended to decorate the castle of Louis I of Anjou in Angers. They were based on drawings by Jean de Bondolf. In total, the piece originally consisted of 105 scenes, out of which 70 are still available. Bataille became a household name when it came to home décor. His keenness to detail was noticed by many as it made him to produce realistic art - a single piece of art could take him a very long time to complete. He was well known for composing artwork that captured the organic and imaginative possibilities of the mediums he was using. His art is a great attraction to home décor experts and those who need inspiration. That’s why those who purchase the framed Nicolas Bataille art do so not only for decorative purposes but also to inspire themselves and their guests.
