Each one of Cheryl Bartley’s designs contains places, people and things that are dear to her and her family. Cheryl is an American Folk Artist who produces original folk art prints and paintings using a technique that’s uniquely her own. She uses that unique technique when painting in order to give her pieces of art a special tea-stained sampler look. She’s the founder of Cheryl Bartley Designs Gallery located in the historic Whiting Mills in a non-traditional space in Winsted, Connecticut. Her paintings are highly sought after by fine art and folk art collectors for their unsophisticated, simple style of expression. They include original watercolors, acrylic, and oils, in addition to the limited edition giclee prints that she skillfully creates round out the collection. Her fine art and folk art images hold worldwide appeal and they are licensed to manufacturers for various products. They are also availed as framed Cheryl Bartley art. The Cheryl Bartley Designs Gallery includes the collections of her spirited paintings that she creates in a wide range of mediums depending on the subject. Cheryl attempts to give energy to her pieces through form, textures, splatter or color. The artist loves working with color and textures because these allow her to create images with bold colors and convoluted in detail. Cheryl I able to enchant her viewers with her peaceful scenes of still lifes, the landscapes of rural America, early pets and houses, American style portraits of people, and visionary American style samplers. She doesn’t want to be restricted by rules, but tries everything and anything to improve the quality of her work.
