Framed Fruit Wall Art

Before the advent of grocery stores and refrigeration, fruit, especially good fruit, was a luxury item afforded only to the prosperous, indeed it is sometimes the case today also. And so our history is rich with art of such themes. Tables laden with fruits have long been the subject of framed fruit artwork. To those in earlier centuries it represented wealth and prosperity. Today images of fresh fruits embody health and well-being.

Although the early masters were the first to bring into fashion framed fruit still life paintings, many modern artists have been inspired by their work.
