Framed Cupid Paintings
In mythology Cupid is seen as a god of love, desire and attraction. He is recognizable by his magical arrow that has the power to create an immense love desire in anyone that is hit by it. His mother is the Roman goddess Venus, his father is Mars and his equivalent in Greek mythology is Eros. His appearance and image are often related to people falling in love, because of his gentle look that radiates a clean emotion of infatuation.
His looks are of a child with wings, with a pure face looking only for ways how to spread loving emotions. His wings are the representation of constant movement of emotions in a relationship and his childlike stature is presenting irrationality in love. The gentle and loving face of this young-like god makes framed Cupid art a perfect piece of art for any home that needs to radiate a bright ray of innocence and love at the same time.
Cupid was often presented as an artistic motif in Roman art, and later in Western classical art. He was an inspiration for many paintings, statues, poems and theatre plays. In modern culture, he is illustrated with his bow and arrow, preparing to shoot loving emotions at people and is also the representational icon of Valentine’s Day.
In one myth, Cupid was stealing honey and was stung by bees. When he complained to his mother Venus, she just laughed it off because he was also stinging people with his arrows, the stings of love, and also caused them pain that came together with the joy of this loving emotions.
