Framed Italian Baroque Paintings
Framed Italian baroque art is in a class all its own and there are millions of people that are fans of it. A good portion of this type of art tends to trend with a religious feel and make good pieces for churches and other places centered around religion. That is not to say they cannot be hung elsewhere; this art looks good just about anywhere.
One of the best artists in the framed Italian baroque painting category is Michelangelo Caravaggio. His works like “The Super at Emmaus” painted in 1601 and “David with the Head of Goliath” painted in 1606 are still popular pieces among art lovers around the world. He did not focus all his works on a religious note he also did masterpieces like “The Cardsharps”.
Another artists that is often sought after when looking for framed paintings of the Italian baroque format is Giovanni Garzoni. Most of his work revolved around still life subjects and produced such pieces as; “Piatto di Bacceli” and “Nutura Morta con Ciliegie”. His works were extremely detailed and today many still hang his works.
Architecture was also a subject matter often used in the time of Italian baroque art. Many artists strived to capture the beauty of such architecture as; The Bridge of Sighs in Venice, the Canal of Santa Chiara, and Northnumberland House. During this period there were many artists working simply in black and white through sketches such as Pietro Novell, Simon Vouet, and Stephano Della Bella.
