Back in 1883 when the bridge was officially opened, it was a miracle of architectural prowess and the ceremony was attended by thousands of people. It is still standing after all those years and there are framed bridge prints capturing its lasting appeal at different moments in time. The structure fascinated people throughout the 20th century, so one can set up an entire collection dedicated to this bridge alone.

Another landmark bridge in New York is the Gothic Bridge in Central Park and Henri Siberman’s photo captures its beauty in black and white. The image is taken in winter and the white silhouette of the bridge is in stark contrast with the gloomy setting and leafless trees. At the opposite end of the spectrum are the radiant Horse and Carriage Bridge and Razzberry Creek Crossing by Carl Valente. The warm colors used in this painting make people think of spring and the bridge itself is relegated to the status of an accessory.
