Framed Tabby Cat Prints
Tabby cats are probably one of the most common breeds of cat. You see them everywhere: in your neighbourhood, in your yard, in your neighbour’s house. You might even have one yourself.
Tabby cats are everywhere in framed tabby cat art.
One famous framed painting of a tabby cat is “Landy” by Ron Burns. While the kitten is very cute, the colours it is rendered in are very eye-catching. Burns paints in a veritable rainbow, maintaining the black shadows, but transforming normal colours into something extraordinary. The browns on the cat have become red and orange. The white “stockings” on its feet pop out at the viewer because of the contrast. The natural afterimages in the shadows are changed to blue and green. Burns can take an image as simple as a cat, and turn it into something truly memorable.
A humorous framed cat artwork is “Toulouse L'Argent” by Lowell Herrerro. There is a cat in a mailbox. It appears to be a Surrealist artwork despite the realistic setting, because of the feeling given by the many clouds in the background, and the colour palette used. Its palette is similar to Rene Magritte's, unifying the painting using shades of white. One wonders, why is the cat in the mailbox? Where is it going? It is a mystery we will never know the answer to.
Cats can have pets too, as shown by the framed tabby photograph “The Cat's Pet” by Letizia Volpi. The photograph shows a cat on a bed, hugging teddy bear. It appears to be content, knowing it's not the only pet in the house.
