Framed Running Horse Wall Art
Wild horses were once very common in America. They live in groups called “bands,” are led by stallions, and are free from Man trying to ride them.
Wild horses truly represent American freedom, and are represented in framed running horse art.
One framed running horse painting is “Last of the Wild Ones” by Jack Sorenson. It is a painting that feels very free, because there is just a band of wild horses, running with no human interference, in the wide Western landscape, against mountains in the background. They are rendered realistically and in their natural colours. The titles implies that there are no more wild horses, or that there are very few of them left, which brings a touch of sadness to an otherwise joyful artwork. It shows a time bygone.
“Champion Stock I” by Elaine Vollherbst-Lane is a framed art of a running horse that shows a single white horse against a red background. It has a feeling of speed from the wind blowing in its mane. Its pose is the moment when a horse literally lifts its bodyweight off the ground and transfers it to one hoof to maintain its fast motion. Whether the horse is wild or tame is unsure. What is sure is that it is ready to race.
“Canyon Mustangs” by John Leone is a framed wild horse painting, which shows a very realistically rendered band of horses running across the greenery of a wide, red cayon. The canyon appears to be the Grand Canyon, as shown by the vast cliffs and red rock. The landscape has an epic feeling. The horses are free, rather than confined to a shed.
