Framed Zuccherelli Prints

F Zuccarelli (1702 – 1788) was born at Pitigliano, in southern Tuscany. Under the tutelage Pietro Nelli and Giovanni Maria Morandi, who were both portrait painters, he learnt the elements of design while also learning the lessons of Roman classicism. Zuccarelli is remembered for his Arcadian landscapes that were well received in Venice and later were achieved in England. Zuccarelli’s style was distinctive and inimitable; his creativity was reputed as one of the world’s best artists. In 1768, Zuccarelli became a founding member of the Royal Academy of Arts, and he was elected president of the Venetian Academy upon his final return to Italy. Between 1724 and 1727, he completed his first commission in Pitigliano - a pair of chapel altarpieces. His most valuable qualification was his passion for the environment and the people around him. During his Tuscan period, he began to experiment with drawings in landscape, though he preoccupied with figurative subjects; and his introduction to the former genre was through Paolo Anesi, the Roman landscape etcher and painter. Zuccarelli attended many exhibitions and shows to observe what other artists were doing. He has also participated in many art exhibitions where his artworks featured prominently. Today, framed F Zuccarelli art are found in almost all corners of the world – in private and corporate galleries, in museums, in homes, in institutions, etc. His style at first took after that of Alessandro Magnasco, but later it took after that of Marco Ricci. Many of his paintings were inspired by the memories of the places he had visited and also of his childhood.
