William Verner (1857 - 1924) was the son of Rev. John Longe and Maria Elizabeth Verner née Martin. When Verner was 23, his father was rector of Sternfield, and he lived with his mother and 5 of his siblings in the Sternfield Rectory. By then Verner had become a professional artist. Verner knew from his childhood that he would become an artist. He could occupy most of his free time working on his drawings. And as a child, he had many free hours to fill, and those around him, having noted his talent, encouraged him to paint and draw. Verner lived in United Kingdom and was known for his attractive paintings. He studied in Brussels and at Ipswich School of Art. His passion for art became like an obsession, and the passion made him to be one of the artists whose pieces were and still are most sought after by many collectors. Verner was a talented landscape artist and equestrian. From 1875 to 1891 he was a member of Ipswich Fine Art Club, and he exhibited from Sternfield Rectory, Suffolk during the same period when he had 10 pictures on show; in 1881, he had 6 pictures. In 1883 Verner exhibited 4 watercolors entitled 'Hunting Sketch.' And in 1974, two of his pictures were shown at the Club centenary. Verner always tried to invite viewers to step into his art, and share with him moments of pleasure. That’s what has made ready to hang framed William Verner art to be on great demand.
