The works of Kerry Vander Meer have been praised by a very influential critic called Lippard Lucy, and they are included in many publications and books such as San Francisco Focus, Artweek, The Oakland Tribune and New York Times. In addition to exploring migrations, her art is rich in content and deals with such issues as the effect of the media on body image and the environment. For more than 4 years, she developed a body of work about Vanishing Amphibians titled "Hardly There," as a way to investigate our planet and the endangered species. Kerry currently teaches mixed media and monotype workshops in Mexico and Oakland and has been studying yoga (Iyengar yoga) for more than 25 years. She’s taught yoga and art for more than 10 years at Creative Growth, an art center that deals with adults with disabilities. she has exhibited in many places including Bank of America World Headquarters, San Francisco, Mercury 20 Gallery, Oakland, San Francisco, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art Artist Gallery, Museum of Art Café, San Francisco, Marin MOCA, Novato, 199 Fremont Street, San Francisco, Triton Museum, Santa Clara, Gallery One, Ellensburg, WA, Robert Allen Fine Art, Sausalito, Diablo Valley College, Pleasant Hill, and William Sawyer Gallery, San Francisco, among others. She has taught and exhibited extensively all over Northern California, and has also in Chicago, Santa Fe, New York, Seattle, as well as in many galleries and museums across the country.
