Nela Solomon (Born 1971) was born into a middle-income, rural family in Shiraz, Iran. She’s the first of 3 children, and he grew up in a creatively liberal environment in which her parents encouraged her inborn talents in the visual arts and they provided her with watercolor sets and sketching pads at a young age. Using the watercolor sets and sketching pads, she spent much of her time sketching still-lifes, landscapes, sunsets, and even portraits of her young friends. All these early artistic endeavors peaked when she lived in Vienna for 2 years from 1991 to 1992. Her principle aim was to improve her German, but the artist was enraptured by the artwork of the city. From the figuratives of the Austrian Secessionist such as those of Egon Schiele and Gustav Klimt, to the avant-garde, modern exhibits that looked like they existed without rules – she witnessed the innovation and energy of Vienna and its community that was very artistic. The excitement provided by that community stuck with her forever. While her parents fostered and nurtured her art, they on the other hand instilled in her a sense of financial rigidity. This allowed her artistic pursuits to fade while she took up studies in science which they considered to be more lucrative. Indeed, this push for financial security together with her newfound passion of travel made her to move to the U.S. in 1996. Here she studied at Pierce College in Los Angeles, California. Nela took up work as the studio apprentice in an attempt to keep in touch with her artistic passion.
