Sergio Pitamitz (Born 1968) was born in Italy and has both Italian and French citizenship. His photography career began in reportage photography and Formula 1 racing. French agency Sipa Press engaged him as their contract photographer in 1996. This is one of the top three photojournalism agencies in the world. His love for traveling and curiosity for foreign cultures soon led him to the geographical reportage. Additionally his passion for Africa and natural world led him to wildlife photography. In the course of his work, Pitamitz has visited every continent and more than 70 countries around the world, from Australia to Americas, from Antarctica to Arctic, from Asia to Africa and Middle East. He now shoots both wildlife and documentary travel photography. His photographs have appeared in numerous publications worldwide, including Figaro Magazine, Newsweek, Condé Nast Traveler, Le Point, In Viaggio, Panorama Travel, Travel and Leisure, Oasis, Lonely Planet, Geo Magazine, The New York Times, Stern, International Herald Tribune, CNN Traveler, The Guardian, Africa Geographic, and various books and magazines of National Geographic Society.
