Frank Schott Art

Born in Cologne, Germany, Frank Schott (Born 1962) has been taking photographs since his childhood. In fact he started capturing influential musicians and the iconic punk bands of the 80s when he was just 15. He decided to pursue art as a career and joined the Academy of Arts in Cologne where he studied under Professor Arno Jansen, who was among his early influences. Currently, he travels worldwide and gets inspired by the American West. Schott moved to California in 1998. He opened a studio in San Francisco in 1999, and since then his work has evolved to include conceptual, architectural and more formal environments from his travels and home apart from the epic landscapes of the American West. His work is influenced by a number of photographic precursors and piers such as Hiroshi Sugimoto, Andreas Gursky, Gregory Crewdson, Massimo Vitali, Jeff Wall, and Candida Höfer. Framed Frank Schott art are owned by many collectors worldwide and can be found in many galleries, offices, institutions and homes. He currently lives and works in San Francisco, and has many clients including include, Acura, Apple, AT&T, Audi, BMW, Bayer, Citibank, Ford, GE, Chrysler, Honda, Google, SBC, Saturn, Infiniti, IBM, HP, Mitsubishi, Mercedes Benz, Land Rover, Pontiac, Nissan, Peterbilt, among others. His art has been recognized in Communication Arts, 200 Best Photographers, AP-American Photography, PDN, Lurzers Archive, and other industry publications. He blends conceptual, technical and formal rigor with a decisive sense of color, texture and composition to produce unique images that have made his art to be so popular.
