Framed Abstract Carolyn Roth Wall Art

Carolyn Roth’s journey in art has been a spiritual and psychological exploration. It has taken her to the Italian countryside, the Louisiana backcountry, to the hills of Nepal and Bhutan and to mother Ganges in India. It has also led her to explore reptile phobias, struggles with her mother, and enchanted dream states. At each stage she’s called to explore new media. As she peels back the layers of each new subject of interest, she peels back layers of her soul and psyche and changes them into aesthetics in which she revels. First world of watercolor helped her loosen images that emerged from both unconscious and subject. When 2Ds cannot hold the images she creates installations inhabited with images from her half awakened state. Then she cycles back to a realm between two 2Ds and 3Ds with mixed media and hand painted folded paper. Most recently the changeable images available through monotypes called her to explore variations on spiritual scenes from the images she brought back from the East. Carolyn has made it her practice to convert her studio into a gallery annually or after two years to share the body of work that emerged from each of her explorations. She’s always been gratified by the large numbers of pieces that left her studio to reside in others’ psyches and homes. The framed Carolyn Roth art can therefore be found in many homes and institutions around the world. Carolyn studied at the University of Michigan and at the University of Virginia from where she obtained her B.S. and M.Ed. respectively.
