Uruguayan painter, Rial (Born in 1936) was born in Montevideo. He’s a graduate of the National School of Fine Arts (Montevideo, Uruguay) from where he graduated in 1960. He studied drawing, painting and engraving. He recorded with Longing Hernández and continued his studies with Jonio Montiel, a prominent student of Master Torres Garcia Joaquin. Rial teaches in the paint shop of the School of Arts and Crafts Dr. Pedro Figari of the University of Uruguay. He has held solo exhibitions in Santa Catalina; Club Ancap; Art Gallery and Cochabamba, and group exhibitions in People's Hall, Montevideo at Club Ancap, Medical Union, Fair Books and Prints. Rial dealt with a variety of subject matter to increase the collectability of his art. With his style of painting, his art looks very realistic. He wanted his viewers to experience the same joy he felt while working on his art. He was presented in Minas, Cologne, Juan Lacaze, San Jose, Rosario, Florida and Melo, Rosario, Cochabamba, Embassy of Uruguay in Santiago de Chile, Yugoslavia (today Croatia), Malta and Switzerland. Numerous works by Rial have been sold at auction, including one titled 'The Orchestra' which was sold in 2001 at “20th Century British Art”, Christie's South Kensington. Today, framed Rial art adorns the walls of many building all over the world. He liked to travel a lot and his inspiration came from these travels – the people he met and the places he visited. Those who purchase framed Rial art do so because they are attractive, durable and inspiring.
