Redstreake is a full time graphic designer and an artist. She loved art from a young age and would spend much of her free time sketching, drawing and painting. Her work as an artist began before she joined kindergarten, and she found comfort in drawing throughout her high school and college days. She knew from a young age that at one point in time she would become and artist. Today, Redstreake executes her paintings with textural fluidity and rich orchestrations of color. She is a full-time mom who is highly sought after for her work in watercolor and pastel. Earlier on, when her first workshop included flimsy paper, poor materials, poor brushes and a cheap watercolor pan, she got turned off to watercolors. She was so turned off that she even refused to try another class or to ever use watercolor again. However, an admirer of her pastel work suggested she tries watercolor again, and advised her to use much better paints and Aquabord in place of paper. Redstreake was skeptical, but she decided to give it a try. She took it home along with a palette full of watercolors that her friend had squeezed for her to try. When she arrived home, she painted a cactus fruit and instantly fell in love with watercolor. Redstreake says that using Aquabord together with watercolors is the perfect marriage to her. She feels as if she’s creating 'good' artwork for the first time. Currently framed Redstreake art are stocked in many collections and galleries, both private and corporate.
