Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Michael O'Toole (Born 1963) got admission to the British Columbia Institute of Technology where he studied architectural design. He later moved to Toronto where he worked for several architectural firms. Finally he was drawn back to the beautiful West Coast where he resides now. He was led by his love for design to explore his creativity in variety of media including acrylic, gouache, graphite, pen and ink and watercolor. He currently focuses on acrylics, and his diverse subject matter ranges from portraiture and architecture, to seascape and landscape. His dramatic and vivid style is inspired by Charles M. Svob, his former instructor and a renowned artist. His art is also inspired by other impressionists. O'Toole’s travels both internationally and locally have also been a tremendous source of inspiration for him. His Canvas Prints sold in print Galleries around the World with much acclaimed success, and are published by Canadian Art Prints. Several Magazines (International Artist, Magazine Art), Articles and Newspapers are always writing his story on the "Road Less Traveled" the life of a full-time Artist for over twenty successful years. Framed Michael O'Toole art are today found in almost all corners of the world. He believes that his paintings reflect a balance of technical skill and emotion. To him, painting has become a very strong passion. O'Toole has also enjoyed many successful exhibitions in Quebec, Alberta and British Columbia. He has also lectured extensively, and his work is available in thousands of private and corporate collections across Japan, Europe, the US and Canada.
