Bonnie Mohr was born the second oldest of 8 children to a dairy farm family. She grew up the in heart of a rural setting and learnt about responsibility and hard work at an early age. The togetherness and joys of each day in a family are what shaped her life for her journey ahead. From the inspirational and poetic images she creates to her rural American paintings, the artwork of Bonnie speaks for itself. Bonnie has love for the country life that surrounds her and with a passion for living life to the fullest, her paintings are rich in a charming realism style and are steeped in rich earthly colors. It is from her second floor farmhouse studio that she creates her artwork. Bonnie’s works are inspired from her earlier childhood years and they reveal tributes of her full life today as a wife, a mother of five and a dairy farmer. It is from these life experiences that Bonnie paints – inspiring and engaging her audience, capturing the genuine beauty of everyday life. She began her career on canvas in 1988 and soon her accuracy and attention to bone structure, anatomy and composition earned her a reputation and she became the most loved and acclaimed bovine artist in America. Bonnie opened her art studio to the public in November of 1997. The studio is located on the Bonnie family dairy farm near Glencoe. At the studio, she sells and exhibits her original lithographic prints, paintings, giclèes, note cards, mini-prints, and Christmas cards. And for those who would like to hang Bonnie Mohr framed art in their interiors, they can be found in diverse galleries and art outlets around the globe in different colors and frame designs.
