Terry Madden is an artist from Florida. He paints large tropical paintings – boats, buildings, birds, flowers, and other things tropical and nautical. He also teaches a workshop weekly on a local PBS channel with the goal of making artists comfortable with watercolor. A floral and landscape painter, Madden uses the wet-in-wet, watercolor method, and works from a studio in Stuart, Florida. He worked with an investment firm in New York City for many years. However, he was pursuing art on the side, and the quick sales of his paintings encouraged him a lot. He collaborated with PBS in the mid 1990s to do a series of programs dubbed the "Art Methods and Materials Show." Through these programs he created about two hundred educational segments including watercolor workshops. Those who like watercolor will love Madden. Now, all his instructional watercolor products, videos, and his television series, are available for viewing and purchase. He loves watercolor because he says it is fun and easy to learn with good instruction. Today, he’s the host of the nationally syndicated and popular PBS television series called “Terry Madden’s Watercolor Workshop.” Together with his wife they own an art gallery in Stuart, Fla., and they have written about 10 workbooks on watercolor art. Madden uses a variety of techniques and styles to increase the collectability of his art. He also produces then in a variety of finishing options, including framed Terry Madden art. Madden loves Tombow pens, and those who’ve attended his workshop or those who’ve seen his Public TV Special, know he uses them to create many sketches and value studies.
