Framed Huynh Prints

Si Huynh was born in Saigon, Vietnam, but moved to Canada in 1981 and. began his freelance illustration career in 1990. Like many artists, he loved art from his childhood and could fill most of his free time drawing and painting on any surface and using any material he could lay his hands on. He knew from that tender age that he would one day become a professional artist. He got his first formal art training when he was only 6. Today, he’s a professional artist who’s known all over Vancouver and beyond. Many people like his art because his approach to illustration draws from the 1920’s and 1930’s vintage advertising style spiced with a modern flare. His art, especially framed Si Huynh art, are now much sought after by many private collectors and galleries throughout the world. He now lives with his wife and son on Vancouver Island where he also works. He likes the island because he can be closer to some of the finest fly-fishing spots and golf courses anywhere. His illustration clients include John Hancock, Canadian Art Prints, Honda, Canada Post, Xerox, Addison Wesley, Ellery Queen Magazine and PC World. Many of his paintings are inspired by his own childhood. His influences include the Russian Avant-Garde artists such as Vladimir Stenberg and Georgii, and poster master AM Cassandre, JC-Leyendecker. He’s been working as an art director, an illustrator, and designer for more than eighteen years. Huynh tries to blur and harmonize the distinction between commercial art and fine art in his work.
