Maeve Grogan (Born 1962) was born in San Francisco. His work flows out of the desire to share moments of dynamic relationship and beauty - color to color, image to image, line to space, and viewer to themselves and to the art. He currently lives and works in Bend, Oregon. Grogan thinks the Japanese concept of wabi sabi is astonishing. The calmness found by accepting humanity - the existence that lasts only for a short time - as humans move through the changing seasons of life – that’s where he finds vitality. He holds a Bachelors degree in Theology from The Franciscan University of Steubenville, and a Masters in Arts and Consciousness Studies from John F. Kennedy University. Art for him is about making the work move in a place akin to poetry, dance and music... not necessarily mental, rhythmic, more visceral, and metaphorical. He has held several shows including Mt. Bachelorisms, Phoenix Gallery, New York, TedXWomen Showing Artist, NAWA Gallery, New York, Lubbesmeyer Studio and Gallery, Eleanor Heartney, Narrows Center for the Arts, and Denise Bibro Fine Art, New York, Schoharie Arts Council Gallery, Cobleskill, Oakland Museum of California, Oakland CA, among others. In his art titled "Remembering," a charcoal, wax and pencil work, there are nine figurative silhouettes that ask the viewer to re-evaluate relationships with the natural world and with each other, relationships that may have been absented or damaged by the rapidity with which people move through modern life. Framed Maeve Grogan art reflect his dedication to producing high quality work.
