Artist Wilhelm J. Goebel (Born 1960) was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He’s recognized nationally as a wildlife artist. In 1994, he designed the New Jersey Duck Stamp and other fishing stamps for Illinois, North Carolina, North Dakota, Maryland, Virginia, Alaska and Delaware. Goebel holds a degree in biology from Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY. Birds are his specialty, and he’s made a lifetime study of the anatomy of birds. Over the years, he’s reached a point where he’s able to draw almost any kind of bird from any angle just from the hours he’s spent studying them. Goebel made field trips to West Indies, Canada and to various National Parks in the United States to study wildlife. These trips have added to his experience. His works have been featured in many publications like Sporting Classics, National Wildlife, Wildlife Art Magazine, Birdwatchers Digest and Outdoor Life, among others. He’s a member of the Society of Animal Artists and his art is on display in numerous museums and galleries in Canada and the United States including Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, the Bennington Center for the Arts, the U.S. Postal Museum, The Ward Museum of Wildlife Art and the National Wildlife Federation. His works, especially the ready to hang Wilhelm J. Goebel art, are also found in many private collections across the country. Being philanthropic, his pieces of art have benefited organizations such as The National Wild Turkey Federation, Wildlife Forever, Quail Unlimited and Ducks Unlimited. His art is in great demand, especially among animal lovers.
