Hank Fotos (Born in the 1960s) was born in Newport Beach. He grew up in the Valley in Mission Viejo. Being a photo editor was always his dream. He was always taking pictures and it was pretty interesting. He began his photography career in 1985 as a runner in the mailroom at Surfing Magazine. Photography has proved to be the most creatively rewarding aspect of his career. Living and working in Newport Beach, the artist has enjoyed a long and prosperous career in the photography industry. Currently, he is a Senior Staff Photographer for the Surfing Magazine. He contributes regularly to the Surfing Magazine and his work continues to appear on countless publications and covers worldwide. His work has been honored several times by Art Directors. Fotos has been on the North Shore for about 20 years and he is a unique character from Newport Beach. He is always there when the waves are good and takes some of the most amazing surf. Many are drawn to his photos that involve a lot of surfing scenes. They also like the framed Hank Fotos art for their attractiveness and durability. Loving what he does is the force that keeps him moving. In 1989, he moved to the North Shore of Oahu where he established himself as one of the premier photographers. He’s one of a very few photographers whose work is carried in galleries in this region. He also contributes to many worldwide publications, videos, textbooks, biographies, pictorial books, skateboards, shoes, apparel, and vehicles. He freelances his work for many top companies in the surfing industry.
