Jim Daly is a painter who started painting as a child, having been inspired by the famous Norman Rockwell. Besides being inspired by the artist, he received enormous support from her mother to continue with his desire to become an artist. Daly created several paintings and would often gift members of family and friends with a number of his drawings and paintings. It came as a surprise that he forewent an art scholarship to join the U.S. Army in the 1960s, but that didn’t stop him from continuing with his artistic works. His realist paintings are quite detailed, capturing even the smallest of details. Daly did his first complete painting when he was 13 years old. The painting was called "The Old Barber Shop," and it was a reflection of his childhood. He studied at the Art Center College of Design. He’s worked consistently in the industry after completing his studies and has been commissioned by many different companies and individuals, including Al Aaron, who's the owner of Aaron Bros. Gallery in Los Angeles. Daly is one of the most respected realist artists, with his paintings reflecting the rural life of America, focusing mainly on childhood memories. After he earned his bachelor’s degree, he switched to creating art using oil. In 1986, his work appeared in a documentary, The West of the Imagination, which was produced by Public Broadcasting System after he was selected by the Public Communications Foundation. He was selected because his art featured among those that significantly had an impact on people’s view of American West. Daly’s creative pieces have been published in a number of publications, including children's books. His works can be found in Lahaina Galleries in Hawaii, with his works showing across the U.S. there are also galleries that sell ready Jim Daly framed art for interior decoration.
