Pino Daeni (1939 – 2010) was an immense talent. His talent was only surpassed by his character and his passion for his family and for life. Daeni was an Italian artist whose canvases and art continue to elicit feelings of nostalgia, warmth, family and love. His paintings are often set on the Mediterranean on vibrantly sunny beaches where he grew up. He’s noted for his exceptional ability to capture the expressions and movements of his subjects. This talent has brought his artwork a worldwide following and earned him private commissions to do portraits. While growing up, he was surrounded by beautiful women, (his cousins, aunts and sisters), and he could be found in various states of emotion ranging from isolation to adoration. All these influenced his art, especially the choice of subject matter. Many of his characters are women frequently depicted inhabiting dressing rooms or sensuous boudoirs, in anticipation of their lovers or husband. Daeni trained at Milan’s Academy of Brera after training at the Art institute of Bari, in Italy. In the course of his training, he perfected his skills painting figure studies and nudes influenced heavily by Macchiaioli and the Pre-Raphaelites. Framed Pino Daeni art was and are still popular due to his unique style. After he established himself as a successful artist in his native land, he moved to the US to seek more artistic opportunity and freedom. In the US he was discovered by Borghi Gallery, which gave him several exhibitions in Boston and New York. His artwork featured mostly women dressed in flowing dresses and skirts.
