Bonnie B. Cooke is noted for his works on large canvases that are prepped with several layers of dirt, molding paste, paint, paper and just almost anything she can lay her hands on. Bonnie uses her hands to layer paint in oil and acrylic over the surface. This helps her to create a texture from which a distinctly figurative painting emerges. She primarily paints butterflies horses, and figures. Bonnie has her own equine series, which portray her own horses. The energy created by her manipulation of color and texture of the medium and materials she uses is what makes her work unique. She feels that her passion will show through her painting. Bonnie loves to watch her horses and then paint them very fast. In this manner she believes she can best capture the personality, power, intensity and thoughts of the animal that has both served and fascinated human beings from the earliest history. Bonnie refers to herself as a “true cowgirl” because of her character and love of horses. When she is not painting in her Studio in Atlanta, she’s riding her horse or working on the land with her beloved family. She studied at the University of Georgia and The Atlanta College of Art, where she received her BFA in painting and drawing. She is motivated by her personal connection to God and her love of nature, which she shares with her viewers through her art. Framed Bonnie B. Cooke art is highly priced by many collectors due to their high quality and growing demand.
