Young Mi Chi works as a freelance painter and designer. He started practicing art when he was only 5 years old. He was born in an artistic family and it was his mother who introduced him to art at such a young age. He knew early enough that his career would be in the arts industry. Mi Chi Mi Chi developed a strong passion for painting that he’s pursued all his life. He recently started his Doctorate of Philosophy in Asian Art History at the U.C. Berkeley. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Illustration both from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. He contributed to the Hearts Project 2004, a San Francisco general hospital foundation. He also designed the opening event banners for the San Francisco Asian Art Museum in the year 2003. It was a 22,000 square feet artwork which wrapped the building. He often uses Chinese characters of love, peace and harmony, happiness, beautiful and grace on his art works. The artist believes these words are universal and are relevant in all parts of the world. He’s exhibited his collages and mixed media paintings in several countries including Seattle, San Francisco, Boulder, Denver, Los Angeles, Paris, Seoul Korea, China and San Jose. These exhibitions have made his art to be known worldwide and today, framed Young Mi Chi art are very common in many art stores. He’s very careful when it comes to the choice of colors and a shape of canvas.
