Eduardo Camoes (Born 1955) is known for seascape, landscape, Marine, and historical landmark painting. He has been highly acclaimed as the leading artist of historical landmarks, but he’s now turning his talent to the landscapes of America. At the age of 17 when Camoes was an art student in Brazil, he decided to focus his attention to the United States of America. He wanted to learn English so he could get a sense of what is taking place in the California Impressionist Painting School. He was lucky that he was invited by an American family that became his "adoptive American parents." So he gave up his studies in Brazil and moved to the U.S. While in the U.S. he joined two art associations and began to show his art at galleries and other locations. This made his art to become well known, and his paintings of landscapes and historical scenes of Southern California became very popular. In 1974, he returned to Brazil happy that he had been well accepted by the art community in California and all his paintings had been sold. He states that they were not just sold, but were sold at a good price. Camoes realized that working with the Californian artists had a weighty impact on his artistic insight. This same insight has been shown in his paintings, as well as a bilingual art book, “Old Rio” (Rio Antigo). Now in its 6th edition it is available through Amazon.com, ArteLatina.com and selected American galleries. Framed Eduardo Camoes art has become a common sight in America and beyond. They are stocked in large numbers by many collectors.
