Romero Britto (October 6, 1963) is a painter known for his neo-pop style. He was born in Recife, Brazil, where he developed an interest in art at a very young age. Back then, Britto considered art more as a hobby but would later understand its professional aspect after reading books about other renowned artists. He first started by copying the works of these famous artists, doing so every day he got time. His artistic journey has seen him try out several media such as serigraphy, watercolor, acrylic, and pen and ink. To best express his subjects, he employs colorful imagery and injects subtle elements of expressionism, Cubism, and captures the mass culture through pop art. Britto’s artistic works are characterized by color and form that depict activism, making his artistic works suitable for socio-political issues. He has created several artwork pieces, with many of them collected by reputable entities, including heads of state, sports superstars, business and entertainment entities, among several others. Absolut Vodka and other organizations have commissioned work. Because of his role as an artist and due to the quality of his artwork, ARTNews, Forbes, The New Yorker, and Vanity Fair have featured his pieces in several articles. From 1989, he's been living in Miami, Florida. Britto established a studio in Miami and had been working there since. His works are found in high profile galleries and have been used widely as wall art. Many galleries sell Romero Britto framed art ready for those who would like art for the wall.
