Nicolas Bataille (1330 – 1405) was born in France. He was an artist and was also a Hand-weaver. He was a firm believer in the inspiring and regenerative power of color, texture, and design. He was interested in the visual arts since his childhood. Between 1375 and 1381 he made a series of tapestries showing scenes from the apocalypse.
