Paul Bailey lives in a rural setting, and the farming landscape which surrounds his home has been his primary source of inspiration over the past couple of years: low rolling hills; intermittent woodland; ancient hedgerows; patch-work fields and vast skies. A fine-grain imparts a pseudo-pastel feel to his finished painting. He also uses under painting because he says it’s a handy little tool. He finds that initial wash sets the tone and gives him the foundation for the works that follow. His finished work is always faultless as he usually strives to give his best. He prefers to use watercolor and is good at choosing his subject matter. He wants to make his art appealing to all those who view them.
