Art Wolfe (Born September 13, 1951) was born in Seattle, Washington, and still resides there to date. He’s an artist who works with all of the artistic elements . . . form, line, composition, texture, shadow and light and produces visual masterpieces. The son of commercial artists, he graduated with Bachelor’s degrees in art education and fine arts in 1975 from the University of Washington. His photography career has spanned over 50 years, a remarkable testimony to the demand and durability of his expertise, his images, and his passionate advocacy for indigenous culture and the environment. During that time he has worked in hundreds of locations on every continent, and on a dazzling array of projects. Morgan Freeman describes him as a prodigy who is able to bring home the absolute need to preserve what we have. His photographic mission is multi-faceted. He employs journalistic and artistic styles to document his subjects so as to educate his viewers. He has a unique approach to photography that is based on his love of the environment and his training in the arts. Wolfe’s aim has always been to win support for conservation issues and that’s why he focuses on what’s beautiful on the Earth. The photographer has captured an estimated 2,000,000 images in total and travels nearly 9 months out of the year leading seminars and photographic tours, photographing for new projects, and giving inspirational presentations to educational, corporate, spiritual and conservation groups. Framed Art Wolfe art is a common sight in many prestigious buildings in the world.
